Frogs (1972)

January 17, 2015  /  Ken Rupracht

It's the day that Nature strikes back!

  • Makes characters in slasher movies look like Einstein.
  • 70's.
  • What on earth is that person wearing?
  • Man vs Nature, in the bayou.
  • Acting was better than I thought it would be.

  • What on earth is that person wearing?
  • Pretty dated.
  • Background "audio" (I refuse to call that music).
  • For being in so much of the film, and it being named off them, Frogs are a bunch of slackers that don't do much of anything.
Opinion

You could say this movie is more about a dysfunctional family of rich stuck ups who have miraculously survived life long enough to be in this movie just as much as it is about frogs. It's a man vs nature flick, with hints of "save the environment" being rather blatantly out there, and certainly it won't top anyones list of 'nature strikes back' horror flicks. Was it amusing? Sure, but I enjoy B-movies and cheesy old flicks - so if dated flicks aren't your thing, it's not gonna be winning your favor. That being said, if you ever want a movie to make you feel smarter than you may or may not be, the family in this one will make you feel like a rocket scientist, I guarantee.
