Chase movies are always fun, but not always in cars. There’s something about a movie taking you on an entire trip across it’s span (even if it’s not trying to be a one cut thing) that has a charm. It’s enticing right? Is the person going to make it? What challenges will they face across the path? Well, tonight we’ll take a peak at how Germany does one thanks to our paid for friend Netflix - he’s in a race against time, and that time is Sixty Minutes.

Back again we come to this franchise of mixed martial arts. I was interested to see how things would pan from the last movie and my mild complaints but overall entertainment. This one promises to be more focused as far as characters go, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the fights up to this point, so really our main reason to watch the movie has already given us no reasons not to. Tonight, we learn how many ways we quote Galaxy Quest in just the name of another movie, tonight we look at Never Back Down: No Surrender.

Hot on the heels of last weeks movie, I get to the actual requested movie for the week - but I had to see the first one to know, you know. Well, turns out I really didn’t need to see the first one to know, but now I can compare the franchise to itself as I go, and that’s the writers version of free real estate. Throw down with those mixed martials, it’s time to come back to The Beatdown.

Do you like troubled kids in schools movies? Perhaps some Karate Kid style troubled kids getting trained in martial arts? DO you like your high schools filled with toned semi-adults playing teens? Well do I have a movie for you tonight - one that spawned (let me count quick) apparently three sequels? Yeah, it looks like this movie did exactly what it said when it came to making a franchise - Never Back Down.

I’m not a big race dude. I’m not a big automobile person - I use them and occasionally I’ll dabble in a game that lets me go real fast, but that’s really the extent of my general interest in the stuff - so tonight’s movie choice might come off as a bit out of nowhere on the slat flats, like a really good ninja. You know what though? It’s offered (at the time of writing this) to watch for free in numerous places, and it comes as a recommendation - and I do love the fact that recommendations have brought me to a good number of movies that are quite good and totally outside of my wheel house (har har) - so why don’t we strap up and see just what’s up with The World’s Fastest Indian.

Tonight we get some different sort of action then the last week. Here, we go for a far more story-based drama-laden tale, where the action is almost just a side effect than the main course. Yes, I know I’m usually the first one to run away from a drama movie because I like to keep it nice, simple, and full of explosive fists and bombs - but sometimes it’s only right to treat people to a little storytelling you know? On that note, chain up your octagons, tonight we watch Warrior.

I’ve got another charity stream coming up soon and I’ve chosen a popular-amongst the friend group destruction derby game for it. You might wonder where that becomes relevant for the movie tonight - well, let’s just say I found an excuse to rewatch an old anime and show it off to some friends, because I have the need for speed and I don’t think my car is going to make it. Push it hard, push it fast, tonight we push for the Redline.

Boxing is a sport of two titans entering a ring and rending closed parts of faces and internal organs with blunt force. It can be such a brutal dance, although in real life it's also a lot of circling and tactically looking for the best chance to drop that hammer of a fist into your opponents jawline for maximum effectiveness. Back in the day, Rocky brought a little something else to boxing besides just an underdog story - a human drama beyond the ring. Take it or leave it, the staying power of the series has proven itself many a time, with the biggest question to most as time goes on "how long can Stallone really be Rocky?" Creed tries to answer that with a new direction, and it's our time to see if it can rise up to the challenge.

With leaves falling in waves, I figured we'd capitalize on it by showing a surf movie! If anyone saw that coming, you best consider yourself psychic and start going after some lottery tickets or something, cause you've got a gift. A gift, much like our titular Surf Ninjas! As always, feeling obligated to leave a cliffhanger to further draw you in to the opinion piece, I'll throw in a pun here so I can (largely) spare you them later. Is this reel most excellent, or will it be all washed up?

There are a lot of people that know of Speed Racer - most are probably familiar with the old school anime/cartoon with hyper-fast monologs and nigh seizure inducing two-frame backgrounds. Some of us may have enjoyed it, and some of us may not. There's even a set of people out there that will punch you for singing the theme song (just trust me on that one, okay?). To little fanfare, someone decided they had to turn this into a live-action movie with some heavy CG. Will it race it's way into your heart, or will your attention speed on by?

Ever wonder where calling out points for pedestrians came from? Surely most of us as young little punks who didn't know any better at one point or another blurted something stupid like "Oh, that one's worth 20 points!" without ever realizing that what we were doing was actually a movie reference. Ah, yes, but in Paul Bartel's Death Race 2000, it's not just a stupid kid thing to say, its an actual totally legit scoring method, where women's rights activists will be glad to know that they are always worth 10 points more . The real question is, how does this little cult classic feel when watched almost 40 years later by someone who just happened to have seen remakes or never heard of it at all? Keep reading, or listening, and let me fill you in.
