Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

April 28, 2014  /  Ken Rupracht

The hot-line suspense comedy

  • Quirkiest characters I've seen in a movie in a long time
  • Believable (mostly) situation
  • A good few parts to laugh at
  • A beautiful example of finding the light at the end of the tunnel

  • Relevance of the situation is a little lost due to time(modern generations might not be able to associate to it as well)
  • Characters may be too quirky for some - can be a bit unbelievable
  • A bit dated (model plane exterior during crazy flights probably not fooling anyone)
Opinion

Humor is a very subjective thing, but the movie was plenty quirky enough to keep me entertained. You can't help but laugh at such a serious situation when the characters are that off the wall.
