Werewolf: The Beast Among Us (2012)
The legendary beast is on the hunt
- Costume design is pretty fun on some characters
- Well done plot twists and misdirection methods keep a person guessing
- Decent use of jump scares
- Violence-side looks believable, while not sinking quite as far as zombie-movie gore levels
- Feels like it would be at home with the old wolf-man movies, straight to the use of gypsies
- Hunter characters are an interesting bunch
- Not the best use of CG
- Some rather foreseeable plot twists
- Although costume designs for some characters are cool, it's very much fantasy-historical (think Van Helsing)
- A few instances of rather poor acting, and main Hunter sounds out of place
Opinion
For fans of the genre/creature, probably worth a watch. To put it into perspective, its no Dog Soldiers, but it's a lot more interesting than some of the other werewolf-flavored slop out there.
