Firewalker (1986)

March 26, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

A pair of down-and-out fortune hunters cash in on high adventure!

There’s not a ton of times when I’ve really picked a movie because of specific events during the course of me doing these reviews - heck, even when I felt bad about calling them reviews since I don’t really feel like I’m doing a professional enough job. Nowadays I’m just too lazy to care and call them what they are, but even though we’ve lost countless actors to the inevitable march of time through my movie-watching life span, there is one that make me feel obligated to go back and have some nostalgia for with the bad news. Chuck Norris was one of my favorites growing up - sure, he was super cool and did martial arts which any young Power Rangers loving kid would think was awesome, but he also looked a lot like my dad to me so there was that added level of mental coolness. With all of that, I knew I had to come back and do one of his movies this week - narrowing it down theoretically should have been a hard one, since he’s had an absolute ton of fun movies, but there’s one that I had in mind that I was pretty sure I hadn’t already touched here. It has adventure. It has whimsey. It has jump kicks and swagger - tonight we go back for the Firewalker.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)

March 19, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

This Spring, a Hollywood legend will become a real life hero.

Tackling more of the backlog today - I love it when stuff I’ve been waiting to watch comes on a service I’m already paying for. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love owning things - physical or otherwise - but free is the key to happiness on a budget. The trailer made this look like a hoot, and I’m positive I have seen worse Cage movies than however this one could turn out, and on top of that I’ve done to action movies - one of which with a little bit of horror thriller edge to it - back to back, so it’s only fair I give everyone a little bit of levity right? Get ready for an absolutely mouthful of movie title as we watch The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

War Machine (2026)

March 12, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

DFQ

One good action movie deserves another, and currently tonight’s movie is tearing up the most watched charts in the old Netflix watering hole. Don’t get me wrong, it does sometimes feel like any movie does that as long as it’s freshly added to the service, probably on account of all the other movies getting hidden behind the same thirty recommendations it usually throws at you - but I enjoy me some scifi military mashups, so either way I should have fun. Get ready for trauma introspection and a whole lot of explosions - tonight we watch War Machine.

Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025)

March 05, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

When they took his family, he took revenge.

We’ve put it off long enough. The first one was a great action alterative to all the super-real spat of movies that came out after the Wick movies showed folks just how cool that could be. A man made invincible by rage, pushed over the line but everyone’s favorite villains the Nazis, and so many moments that came out of left field it couldn’t be un-entertaining if it tried (unless you really aren’t cool with violence). So of course, when I heard there was a sequel, I bought it day one it came out on streaming - and then promptly threw it on the back-burner while i waited to see if i could get the full force of pals together to watch it just as everyone got busy with work and life in general. Well tonight that wait is over, tonight we hit the Road to Revenge.

Expend4bles (2023)

February 26, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

They’ll die when they’re dead,.

Time for some old stupid fun. Well, I mean, there’s some assumptions being made. One of which is both funny to me and ageist- in that a lot of the cast still has the old action heroes I used to watch a long while ago. The other part - stupid fun - is really me just basing the enjoyability factor of the last 3 of these movies I watched and averaging it out to a good time. Let’s be real here - with a tagline like “They’ll die when they’re dead” - I’ve already gotten a chuckle and an expectation that this one isn’t going to think too hard, so grab your skull ring and polish off the one liners, tonight is Expendables 4.

M3GAN 2.0 (2025)

February 19, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

Time for another movie I’ve had in my stock for a while and just haven’t gotten to watching it. It’s not exactly the one I had planned for this week, but when folks are away I find alternate play or something like that. All it means is instead of foreign action we’ll get some home-brewed kind of action instead, with some hints of horror/thriller. We watched the original and found it not bad, so surely the second could be pretty rad? What’s better than one robot? Two. Here comes M3GAN 2.0.

Ghost Punchers (2025)

February 12, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

It’s my birthday, so I can watch what I want to and nobody can stop me. Up tonight is a random movie I found perusing the new adds to services. Hadn’t planned on it specifically, but when I read the title, saw it wasn’t an Asylum picture, and saw some of the trailer in the background I was hooked. Not like - oh yeah, this is going to be the best movie of the year kind of hooked, but “I’m gonna watch this because I’m probably going to have fun and it won’t overstay it’s welcome” kind of fun. So here we are, covered in ecto-goo and wondering how many friends i could convince to make a movie if I ever wanted to - tonight we punch ghosts with the Ghost Punchers.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz (1997)

February 05, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

We are going back a ways tonight. I remember watching this show way back when it first ran on Cartoon Network way way back in the year of 2000. Then they put on this bad boy - which I distinctly feel like I remember being a movie version - about a year later. Fast forward to now, I’ve just finished re-watching the show with a pal of mine, and for tonight’s movie we found a copy to watch. Get in touch with your inner giant robot piloting teenager, tonight we are going to watch Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.

The Wrecking Crew (2026)

January 29, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

Don’t mess with this family

Brand new super-hot release right now, like fresh fresh off the press! I mean, technically I think it might have come out yesterday, but I was gonna wait until movie night to watch it anyways, so tonight’s the night! We’ll double down on this one two - as it’s an Amazon original, and it appears that Squarespace has sunset the Amazon block - that little retail link at the end of my reviews I could attach to an associates ID and make a kick back whenever someone bought stuff using the link that in fact never ever really got used so instead I keep just paying for the site out of pocket as another one of my hobbies to assault my wallet. Anyways, there’s different assaulting going on in this movie, against bad guys and possibly your sense of humor - tonight, we tune in for The Wrecking Crew.

Dust Bunny (2025)

January 22, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

Sometimes there really are monsters under your bed.

Saw a trailer and read a pitch, and this seemed like it was going to be a fun movie. Yeah, sure, I could do all manner of movies - heck, I now have three back-logged movies that I own waiting to be watched, and another one that I’m surprised to see I haven’t done a review on (even though I know I’ve already done it for movie night at some point). Still, lets get something that looks like it should have some laughs, maybe some scares, and perhaps even some action! Grab the duster and hide under your blankets, tonight we watch Dust Bunny,.

Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky (2016)

January 15, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

War never changes, but the tech sure does.

After getting my buddy into the hobby of gunpla to the point where he now has a pile of shame, I realize there really isn’t a lot of them for me to do on here. I mean, a lot of giant robot shows tend to be just that - shows - which isn’t very fitting for a movie night. Yeah, you occasionally get some movies that function more as a compilation of sorts - like the movies for the OG Gundam show or to some extent even the Gurren Lagann movies. Now, with what’s available to me, there was really only two main options - a movie for the Seed series (which I’ve never watched), or tonight’s movie. Well, obviously, we get tonight’s movie, one that I also knew nothing about until watching it outside of someone mentioning “i really should watch it” and jazz. Grab your radios and prepare to be instructed on how war is bad again, tonight we watch Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky.

Predator: Badlands (2025)

January 08, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

First Hunt. Last Chance.

Guess what came out on digital demand? Yeah, the latest Predator movie. Guess what I’m re-watching now that I can. Yep, that newest predator movie. Enjoyed it in the theater, lets see if I have any opinions that change after watching it at home where the image quality isn’t quite as huge. I mean, the ability to pause will certainly be nice for bathroom breaks, but who knows what things I’m going to figure out in this new watch environment. Start your clicking and show off your skulls, tonight is Predator: Badlands

Don't Mess with Grandma (2024)

January 01, 2026  /  Ken Rupracht

First movie on the first of the year, and I brought the crew together for a funny one. Yeah, sure, we could have done horror or pure action or whatnot, but if I’m being real I brought in this year by being sick for all my day off so we might as well bring some levity in with the new year - because what’s more ironically funny than taking a day off from work to do work just to be sick and not be able to do anything? Perhaps a movie about a retired Vet defending his granny from a home invasion without her knowing? When the grandson is Michael Jai White, you know you Don’t Mess with Grandma.
